MARCO PIERRE WHITE RESPONDS TO GOOD WEEKEND PROFILE OF JOCK ZONFRILLO AS LAST SHOT CLIMBS TO THE TOP OF THE AUSTRALIAN BESTSELLER CHART

The profile, written by journalist Tim Elliot, claimed that Marco Pierre White barely knew Zonfrillo and that the version of key events detailed in Zonfrillo’s memoir pertaining to White were fictitious.

In response to the article Marco Pierre White says: “Over the years many things have been written and said about Jock Zonfrillo some of them kind and some very unkind. It saddens me when my words and my quotes have been taken out of context. The truth is he is one of the most talented chefs in Australia today and his contribution to gastronomy has been enormous.”

Last Shot, which was released two weeks ago, has climbed to the top of the Australian bestseller chart. According to Nielsen BookScan, the leading provider of retail sales for the book industry, Last Shot is Australia’s Fastest Mover this week (positive sales difference between last week and this week). It is also the number one bestselling title in the Biographies & Autobiographies category for the second week running. The audiobook, also narrated by Jock Zonfrillo, has been an Audible bestseller since its release.

Simon & Schuster and Zonfrillo have received an overwhelming number of messages of support this week in response to the article.

Zonfrillo says: “I have been really taken aback by all the people who have reached out to me this week, both friends and strangers. Bringing these darker parts of my life into sharp focus was already more painful than I thought it would be, and I never would have expected people to connect to my story the way they have.”
