About The Book

Three years after their brother vanished on a deadly mountain, two sisters return to uncover a truth someone is willing to kill for.

Three years ago, Pete disappeared in Tasmania's remote Abel Mountains. The search was abandoned. The case went cold. Everyone accepted the same explanation:

Mount Mercy takes people.

But Hallie and Gertie never got answers. Brought together by their mother's dying wish, the estranged sisters return to the wilderness determined to uncover what really happened to their brother. Their only lead is a reclusive community known as the Peakers—the last people to see Pete alive.

The Peakers claim they know nothing.

Hallie and Gertie know they're lying.

As the sisters venture deeper into the isolated mountains, they discover that Mount Mercy hides far more than missing hikers. Surrounded by a hostile landscape, cut off from help, and hunted by people willing to kill to protect the truth, their search quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival.

Because Pete's disappearance was no accident.

And the closer they get to the truth, the less likely they are to leave the mountain alive.

Atmospheric, addictive, and packed with heart-stopping suspense, this gripping survival thriller combines family secrets, wilderness danger, cult-like communities, and relentless tension.

Perfect for fans of Jane Harper, Yellowjackets, and The Dry, this is a chilling mystery that will keep you reading—late into the night.
