About The Author

Shanna Upchurch lives outside Dallas on a small-but-mighty homestead with a bunch of goats, horses, chickens, and children. She believes that life is better when you’ve got dirt under your fingernails. She is forever planting seeds, rescuing struggling plants, and letting her garden grow a little bit wild. Shanna’s love of growing things, and of finding hope where it seems unlikely, blooms at the heart of her books. She’s the author of picture book The Honeybee Highway and the middle grade novel A Garden Lost.
