About The Author

H. R. Giger (1940 - 2014) is a hugely influential Academy Award-winning artist, the original designer of the Alien universe. He went on to create designs for other SF projects including Species, and has been hugely influential in shaping the look of the genre movie as we know it today.

Giger's fascinating biomechanical style, a unique synthesis of flesh and machine, has been realized not only through his remarkable paintings and film design, but also through sculptures, elegantly designed furniture and architectural and interior design projects. His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. A permanent collection of his major works is housed at the H.R. Giger Museum in Gruyères, Switzerland.
