About The Author

Chi-Young Kim is a literary translator based in Los Angeles. A graduate of Wesleyan University, she is the recipient of the Man Asian Literary Prize (2011), the Korea Literature Translation Institute Translation Grant (2011), the Daesan Foundation Translation Grant (2013, 2008, 2005), and the 34th Modern Korean Literature Translation Award (2003). Her translations include Kyung-sook Shin's Please Look After Mom (Knopf, 2011), Kyung Ran Jo's Tongue (Bloomsbury, 2009), Young-ha Kim's Your Republic Is Calling You (Mariner Books, 2010) and I Have the Right to Destroy Myself (Harvest Books, 2007), and Lee Dong-ha's Toy City (Koryo Press, 2007).
