Dr. Charles Platkin, PhD, JD, MPH, is the founder and Executive Director of the Center for Food As Medicine and Longevity (FoodMedCenter.org), a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the use of food as a tool to prevent, treat, and manage chronic disease while extending healthspan. The Center disseminates peer-reviewed research, promotes universal access to healthy, affordable food, and advocates for a smarter, more equitable food system that improves public health.

A leading researcher and thought leader in public health, nutrition, and food policy, Dr. Platkin holds both a PhD and MPH in Public Health (specializing in nutrition), and a JD. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, BMC Obesity, and Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. He is the author of seven books, including the bestseller Breaking the Pattern, which is used by universities and clinics nationwide.
