About The Book

The south-west of Western Australia, a place of beauty, incredible wildlife, plants, trees, rivers, oceans, hills and most importantly, its a place that Mika and Meero call home. For these two young Noongar siblings, this is Boodja (country) and Boodja is bush is school, it’s to be explored, its fun, it’s scary and if you want to get anywhere, it’s to be walked. As these two travel with their family inland, they come to realise they have a lot to learn and a lot to overcome if they’re going to keep up with the wonders of their culture.

About The Author

Alton Walley is a Nyoongar man with connections throughout Whadjuk, Balardong, Pindjarup, Kaniyang and Minang country. His grandfather also passed down Yamatji connections with family in Meekatharra. Alton was blessed to grow up around incredible storytellers, sharing traditional Noongar culture in the same way that has been passed down for generations. Alton has endeavoured to share these stories that have shaped his values and outlook, penning them to be available for all ages.
