Simon & Schuster Australia acquires World Rights to book by Cathrine Mahoney

Simon & Schuster Australia has acquired world rights to a book by podcaster and writer Cathrine Mahoney.

She is the host of ‘So, I Quit My Day Job’ and the co-host of ‘Not Another Parenting Podcast’ and her columns have appeared on News.com, 9Honey, WHIMN, Kidspot and Mamamia.

Mahoney’s book, Currently Between Husbands is a humorous true story about surviving divorce, dating again, changing careers and turning 40.

“Two weeks before my 40th birthday my marriage fell apart and it’s fair to say life was a rollercoaster for the next few years. Navigating a very public breakup, life as a single mum, every dating disaster imaginable, plenty of tears and laughter in equal amounts and spending a small fortune on psychics; I thought my life was over but as it turns out it was just the start of the second chapter and an opportunity to rediscover who I really was,” says Mahoney.

“I wanted to write a book I would have loved to have read when I was balls deep in the chaos of a marriage breakdown. A book that brings hope, honesty, and humour to anyone going through something similar. Think Bridget Jones meets Eat, Pray, Love – but with less yoga, way more vodka and much bigger undies. Disclaimer - This is not a self-help book I am still in therapy!”

Emma Nolan, non-fiction publisher at Simon & Schuster Australia says: “Cathrine is smart, hilarious and honest; making her the perfect person to write a book that gives women tossed about in the all craziness of life a hopeful voice. Readers will laugh, they’ll cry, but most if all, they’ll know they’re part of a group of fearless women who can overcome anything.”

Mahoney’s book will be available in all formats in 2022.
