About The Illustrators

Lisa Sheehan is a designer and illustrator. She lives in Bedfordshire, England, with her family and a giant tabby cat. Lisa works predominantly in graphite and gouache, which is then digitally colored. For the last fourteen years, she has been working as a graphic designer, currently for a leading British newspaper, but after having her two daughters she re-kindled her love of children's books and is now completing an MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin.

Antoine Corbineau is a French creative born in 1982. Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts London and Ecole Superieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg, he has worked with major brands, newspapers, and advertising agencies worldwide. Using a range of mediums and techniques, Antoine creates beautifully busy patchworks of texture, imagery and creative typography. His work has the rare and powerful gift of both instantly communicating a simple key message or brand, but also effectively sharing a much larger amount of information hidden within the fun and energetic worlds of his illustrations. After living in Strasbourg, London, New York, and Paris, Antoine now lives and works in Nantes.

Having received honors for her illustration work, Marilyn Faucher has developed a style that is both sensitive and full of life. Marilyn lends her contemporary style to stationery as well as children's books, and is beautifully exemplified in her portrayal of the many animal relationships of All the Little Fathers by Margaret Wise Brown. She lives in Montreal.

Charlotte Cooke can usually be found creating beautiful paintings in her studio or spending time with her family. Charlotte loves to dream of a world where everything is made of candy!

Loretta Schauer originally trained as a dancer, and then managed a conservation charity on Hampstead Heath for many years—battling brambles by day and practicing her drawing skills by night. Loretta won the Waterstone's Picture This competition in 2011 and has since illustrated numerous picture books, including Beauty and the Beast written by Michael Morpurgo, A Monster's Moved In! written by Timothy Knapman, and the new Sky Private Eye series of picture books written by Jane Clarke. Loretta has also illustrated several young fiction titles including the Dougal Daley series written by Jackie Marchant. She has worked with a range of publishers including HarperCollins, Little Tiger Press, and Bloomsbury, and is currently writing her own picture book stories and a fiction series for children. She lives in London at the top of a tall grey building with her husband and pet hamster, Torben Redbeard, and occasionally escapes to go galloping around the Heath, or noodling for fossils.

Stephen Gulbis studied graphic design at Bath Academy of Art. He has been a freelance illustrator since 1981, illustrating children’s books, advertisements, and book jackets, and is a regular contributor to Soccerstars magazine. Steve lives with his wife and their two daughters in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Julie Clay is a freelance illustrator with twenty-five years of experience in greeting card design and children's book illustration.
