Portia Nelson (born Betty Mae Nelson; May 27, 1920–March 6, 2001) was a renaissance woman: a singer, songwriter, actress, composer, lyricist, painter, photographer, and author. She appeared in feature films such as The Sound of Music, Dr. Doolittle, The Hardy Boys, numerous TV series and was a long-time regular on All My Children.
